Welcome to Early Care Darwin City my name is Aleesha and I am the Centre Manager.
I have worked as an assistant teacher for many years which motivated me to continue to study. Once I successfully completed my Diploma in Children’s Services I progressed forward and became a team leader of the 1-2 year old room and the 3-5 year old room. I was then promoted to a coordinator and now the Centre Manager. This experience has allowed me to develop as a professional in all aspects of child care. I have worked as an early childhood professional for 12 years, during this time I have gained diverse experience working with children between the ages 0-5 years.
I am passionate about early childhood and believe that all children need a safe, secure, stimulating and challenging environment in an atmosphere conducive to the development of healthy, happy children. I believe children should be encouraged to accept others and embrace differences in cultural and economic backgrounds. The children in our centre are supported to develop their own individuality. Each child is recognised as being unique and encouraged to express their ideas, creativity and feelings. Our centre allows this to occur in an environment which is unhurried and supports each child as they learn and develop through play.
Communication is a top priority in our centre, all Families are encouraged to become involved in the centre and any ideas and suggestions are welcomed as we work together to enrich, guide and facilitate each and every child. I involve my staff in the decision making and implementation of new ideas. I strongly believe that Happy staff = a happy centre = happy children = happy parents!
